Making a Place a National Destination.

Placemaking is the multidisciplinary process of creating high-quality public spaces that people want to enjoy together. It involves designing and enhancing a community’s public realm - parks, streets and civic plazas - to foster social interaction, promote well-being and reflect the identity and needs of the people who use them.

Exemplar Project >>> VIA Experience, Little Caesars Arena

Signature Result: The VIA Experience made the traditional arena concourse a destination unto itself. A signature feature is the large-format (700’ wide) projection mapping system - the largest of its kind in North America when first introduced. Upfront costs were recovered quickly through technology and ad sponsorship.

Strategic communication plays a critical role in all phases of the development process. More than marketing alone, brand projection involves education before sales - building trust within the community and firmly establishing a standard within the market before the first shovel breaks ground.

Exemplar Project >>> The District Detroit Preview Center, Comerica Park

Signature Result: 100% of the Little Caesar Arena’s Executive Suites sold out in a fraction of the time estimated, for higher than projected prices and longer commitment terms - months before the Arena broke ground.

Architectural Planning and Design.

From district-scaled master plans to custom interior finishes, I am a principal-based designer with the primary goal of earning the most credit with the consumer. I am not an object maker. I endeavor to produce environments that meld seamlessly into existing contexts.

Signature Result: The District Detroit catalyst project, Little Caesars Arena, won the prestigious Sports Facility of the Year award at the 2018 Sports Business Awards Ceremony.

Signature Result: One Westfield Place public Preview Center and Outreach Campaign has been described as a national model for Entitlement. The project won the American Planning Association and New Jersey Future “2023 Smart Growth Award” for Mixed-Use Development.
